What are you doing on Sept 22?

Join us to mark World CML Day with a day of education and a very special evening of celebration and community.

The Canadian CML Network welcomes Dr. Mark Hnatiuk, Clinical Lecturer, Division of Hematology, University of Alberta. In an interactive CML 101 session, Dr. Hnatiuk will discuss current and future treatment options, managing side effects and therapy-free remission, as well as take your questions on what living with CML means in 2018.

Also joining us will be Margaret McNeely, Associate Professor in the Department of Physical Therapy at the University of Alberta to share her insights on the value of exercise in managing fatigue. The leader of the Alberta Cancer Exercise (ACE) Program, Mcneely will help identify which types of exercise fit with your lifestyle and how pushing through fatigue is the best thing you can do for your health.

And no conversation about physical well-being would be complete without nutrition. Come hear Heather Bester, registered dietitian and author of Natural Nutrition: Your Recipe for Health, explore how you can change your life simply by making smarter food choices.

In the spirit of providing the tools you need to live your best life with CML, we will also be joined by Wellspring\’s Marilyn Hundleby and Michael Baker from the Leukemia and Lymphoma Society who will talk about the resources available for people living with cancer and their families. We will also include a breakout session for caregivers – a unique opportunity for CML supporters to share their experiences and ask questions during a moderated discussion.

And when we\’re all done with learning, we will officially mark World CML Day with a special evening of cocktails, music and community. Don\’t miss it!
