Everyone has their own unique CML story. But there is always one common theme: support or lack of it. It takes a lot to move forward after a cancer diagnosis and a solid network of people can make a real difference in how your story ends up being told.
That’s why last year we decided that it was important to recognize those who made it their mission to make life easier for someone with CML. It could be your doctor who changed everything. Or maybe your best friend or colleague stepped up in ways that you never expected. It could even be the guy at the shoe repair place who doesn’t even know your name. For me, it was a neighbour that I had only said a few words to in five years, who showed up at my door with no expectations, but only to say, “I just wanted you to know that I will be with you on your journey no matter what happens.”
If you have crossed paths with an Extraordinary someone like this, someone who changed the course of your CML story – even just a little – we want to hear from you. Nominations are now open and plans for the Evening of the Extraordinary on June 14 are in full-swing. Tell your story here.
Come join us to celebrate those who make such a big difference to all of us. For more info and to RSVP, click here. We can’t wait to see you!
